Interuption

Sorry to interupt the war games that are ongoing, but i recently saw the movie Valkyrie, staring Tom Cruise. And I thought I might write about my take on the movie.

I must say that I have seen a good number of second world war movies, everything from the Guns of Navarone to Saving Private Ryan, but I think Valkyrie was one of the few enjoyable and entertaining of those many films. Now there was sumwhat subdued suspence as I already knew how the story ended. Tom Cruise plays the part of Colonel Clauss Von Stauffenberg who is the leader of a pot to assasinate Adolf Hitler from within. The movie is quite fast paced and the fight and action sequences are well done, but give everyone a break by keeping the blood and gore to nearly none. With the excption of a suicide and a few wounds.

The attention to historical detail is also exceptionally well done, from the uniforms, to weapons and set decor. I am also fed up with warmovies which potray all Germans and Nazis as cold hearted bastards. I found a film which showed the Germans's from their perspective to be rather refreshing. The acting was rather marvelous and for it's plot, suspence and historical accuracy.

If I was a critque, I wouldgive it 4 out of five. I deducted one point because the movie could be a bit longer and because some loose ends were forgotten in the end. However, overall I woud say that I did enjoy this movie, and I would say to anyone who likes this gendre of movie, that it is worth your 10 bucks to go see it. Also, this movie is not bad on the stomach due to its lack of gore, so popcorn is a great addition.

But this is not a movie for young children or people with a fear of expoltions.

Germany invades Poland

Germany has taken Poland. Today, the 4th German army marched through the streets of Warsaw, the capital of Poland. The little rebellion that did arise was quickly decimated. Let it be none world wide that Poland is now a German territory. With every contry mobilizing, diplomacy and talk of serious war has begun. Germany is preparing, like all others, with it's western borders lined with infantry and armored divisions and control of Poland. War is iminent. Prepare yourselves.

September 1939

Russia completes the Moscow and western deffencive lines. 37 Infantry divisions are mobilised ready to move. Another 22 Light armored regiments and 12 heavy regiments. 3 Aircraft carriers plus escorts are sent to the north sea. 5 Lenin class battleships are also sent along with 11 frigates. 2 Air wings are put on 24 hour alert and air rais shelters and anti aircraft emplacements are completed. Developement of the T-90 tank comences, Jet engine research started. Three Sweedish divisions arive in moscow. 25 fighters are sent to sweeden. Republican Inteligence and Security Agency formed. Two German spies are arrested in Stalingrad. One American suspected spy arrested in Kurov. One Russian spy in undisclosed country gone missing. Construction of Q-33 submarine starts. Trade embargo implemented against against China. Treaty talks started with Canada. Troops and ships are recaled from Norway.

I am well aware of the growing tensions in our world, and I am aware of threats and hostilities between certain nations. However futile it may seem I believe that we must focus our efforts to resolve our differences through diplomatic means.

However, our Nation has mobilised our armed forces and put them on high alert. Russia has sent troops to Sweden and I would like to send a stark message to all other nations. Stay away, or face the consequences, which could be severe.

Russia and Sweden are open to other country members to enter in to treaty negotiations.

Mister president. If you do not deliver the money, and arms as specified earlier, we will not hesitate to sink Venice. So many will die, their blood on your hands, not to mention that your daughter is still being held there. In the night you will hear their screams. "Why mister president? Why did you do this to us?!" and it will haunt you forever. I wish to spare you that price at the cost of twenty five million dollars, and the tanks, and heavy guns. If you do not reply soon, then I would wave goodbye to a peaceful sleep, your daughter, Venice, and possibly your position.

The World has expresed it's wish to plunge our earth in to conflict once again. Our country will overcome the imanent crusades and rapel any threat to our great republic.

In partnership with our Sweedish allies we are taking measures to ensure the safety of you, the Russian people, but we will need your help. Ensure you keep windows covered, grow your own food as much as possible to help feed our commrads in arms. We will need to form defences such as anti tank barriers and minefields. We will need local militias to support the duties of our soldiers who will be busy saving our country. And finally, be aware of the presence of spies, from any nation. Report any suspicious activity to your local political officer or policemen.

We are using every diplomatic and political strategy possible to prevent a global catastrophy, but our nation must be courageous, we must be willing to fight, we must be strong, you must be strong!

Germany must prepare for war! The world is mobilizing! Prepare the home defenses! And begins the construction of those beautiful armored divisions to blow our enemies to pieces and begin the blitz! If you wait to be attacked you cannot be garanteed of victory. "The best defense is a good ofense"! We must strike first! Germany prepares for war! (Many exclemation points in this post!)
